George Nelson made his own worm and worm gear. He had build a small hob to cut the worm gear. When he died his son sold the design to someone else. But I don't remember who. Since that was around 30+ years ago. I worked for George when I was 17 years old and I believe he was 67 years old at the time and still building rock saws and other lapidary equimpment. His shop was located on 91st and Halsey in Portland Oregon. The building was still there last time I drove by. It's a tire store now or at least it was last time I drove by. Which has been a few years now.
