Went to Bancroft CN last year. All the Canucks had to say was "do you have any alchohol, fireworks or Bait, eh?' They do not want anything containing soil to cross the border and obviously have limits on alchohol entering the country though they seem to relish it once in country. Coming back you will be asked for the proper ID (passport is best) and if you have any Alchohol Tobbaco, Firearms or Soil. It seems that you are allowed to repatriate "specimens for Geolocgic Study" as long as they do not exceed the the importation dollar limit if you bought them (I think it $200 but better check since it seems to be always changing)If you found them, just clean them up well and have them accessable in case you get the one guy that hears your bringing in "rocks" and thinks it's something illegal. By the way go to Bancroft for a rockin good time!
Canada is restrictive on removal of fossils from some locations so always check a site specific info before labeling and bringing them out or even collecting for that matter.
