Thanks to all for your responses. I will try posting a photo within a couple of days. Regarding the area it was found. There is no doubt it was found legitimately near the Thai-Cambodian border area. It is a long and rather strange story. I do not post it because people will think I'm either nuts or yanking their chain. However the circumstances are clear to me. There is little or no chance this came out of an unregistered claim. Again I can't post the exact details but let's just say it came from completely virgin territory. As to Garnets rating 7 or less, I agree that some do. But some register 7.5 according to my research and from pictures I've seen of rough, I do not think beryl matches the tendencies (whereas some garnets do). Maybe after I post the picture you'll agree.
