Hello Jim, I think we would all love to see this specimen. Posting a photo is pretty easy, just click on photo gallery then when there click on upload photo and hopefully we all get to see this beauty you have. Seeing the crystal structure will be of great value in determining the type you have. As far as hardness, it is possible that your crystal is an 8 in hardness after all like hardnesses will scratch each other. Hope to see a pic.
