Re: Diamond Carving Wheels?

John, Perhaps I can shed some light on your dilema...I have a pixie setup specfically for carving and my friend has a geni. Both of us use the 1/2 and the 1/4 inch wheels side by side. The first two are 100 grit the next two are 220 grit and the final two are 600 grit. From there we go to various homemade wheels using diamond and extender fluid. The thing you have to remember is that the convex wheels will only give you a concave surface, so if you are going to do free-forms with undulating concave surfaces, this will work. Various parts of your carvings can also be done with flat wheels and polished with flat sanding drums. I use smaller diamond points(chinese and cheap) for detail work. Most of my carvings are jewellery size tho (1" to 4") If I can be of any further help please ask, the Geni is a wonderful machine, I have had the Titan for about 20 years and love it.
