geometric forms

Bob,
Your site has proven to be a wonderful teaching tool again!
The art students are learning about geometric shapes and the idea that geometric shapes may be divided into other geometric shapes, and developing mathematical arguements to support ideas.
At 4th grade, they are having trouble distinguishing what a geometric form is and the most gifted student thought they were man-made. AhO!!!!
I had them look at your cubic crystal forms and some others here to realize that geometric forms are natural forms also.
As was mentioned here-
I do not think that Geology and Rock Hounding could ever be a dead hobby.
I wish you could have seen how "cool" they thought the pictures of the mineral crystal systems were at this site. They thanked me for just showing them the minerals and they really do find rocks very interesting. A "dead hobby"?? I doubt it very much!!
We also discovered that lead is a great example for dividing a geometric form into other geometric forms.

We just Keep On Rockin
