Hi Don, Thanks so much! I will try the mineral key. I am pretty sure the crystals are apophyllite. I am going to bring the piece into Greens Lapidary, in Calgary, AB Canada. They are probably the best shop in our area, I am anxious to get their take on it. Yes, difficult to tell from a pic, without seeing and handling the specimen. I quite like it, and I must know more-it is driving me nuts. I am guessing that is is from a cave, rather than fossilized coral, which was how it was described at auction.
