Re: Re: Any EPOXY users out there?

It can happen on the first exposure to the hardener...OR, in buddy's case, and most others, the sensitivity reaction can take years to occur. I'm sure most professional boat-builders, doing re-finishing, etc. really cover up with gloves and cheap tyvex coveralls. I'd want a dust mask with carbon granule filters, rathet than merely a cheap white dustmask, to trap the drifting organic hardener molecules. Buddy "flashes" his epoxied surfaces with a propane torch, to remove all the fine bubblets in the epoxy, from the mixing and brushing process...anyways, the flame launches extra hardener into the air, too....there's a "safer" epoxy formulation, but I think it rots your liver. Not much of a choice, but you have one. So..will that be Death by Guillotine, or Death on a Burning Stake?

I'll take the Burning Stake....a HOT STEAK beats than a COLD CHOP, anyday...
