How to handle pits in agate cabs

I have some very beautiful mexican crazy lace agate and have made a number of good cabs from it but a few have developed tiny pits in the polishing process. This seems to be characteristic of this particular stone. I've heard of several different approaches to patching the pit. The pits are tiny and not easily observable without magnification. Anyone have experience with this and, if so, will you share your resolution? I'd be grateful.
