cutting & polishing the ever-popular geode
I was cutting some geodes in half a short time ago, got some beautiful caves and crystals, but on this one, I don't really know what happened, but somehow I destroyed a blade. But the inside of the geode that this happened on was a relatively softer, yellowish/white. I'm guessing maybe sulphur? Could anyone confirm this for me without actually having to upload pix? Also, if it is sulphur or whatever, because of the relative softness, will it polish on a flat lap? Is there any harm to other geodes to do a group polish? Should I polish them separately & see what happens, or should I just display them in their "raw" condition as a memorial to my dead saw blade? Any and all comments or critical witticisms gladly accepted.
