Bob, I would like to help you but I am afraid I can't remember where I got the aluminum disk to back up the felt wheel. It may have been one that came with a Rock Rascal I bought about thirty years ago. I also have another aluminum disk and two others that are 3/4 inch thick plywood wheels bolted by four bolts to five inch pulleys, all of six inches in diameter. I have not had any problems with the plywood wheels, but spinning plywood at those speeds is probably not a practice to be recommended. I have not experimented with different speeds with my unit in the photos I posted, as I seem to get very good results with the present setup.
