Re: Re: need some info on looking for geodes in keokuk

okay we have a week until our trip up to keokuk and i still have not been able to contact jacob's. any suggestions are wonderful, keep in mind that we work nights, so that would be a difficult time to call him. unless i call during my first break or lunch. i've found a remedy to prevent or completely relieve poison ivy by using my essential oils so we should be able to go to evans or stevenson's, just have to remember to pack them in with my first aid kit before we leave. are there any other good places to go look for geodes? would we be able to contact other places available when we get there?

Mel, i will definitely let you know the places we go when we get back. i'm getting very excited about this. our daughter has told everyone about her going to look for "rocks", geodes. have you been able to find any other minerals or gems anywhere else in missouri? we have found calcite in halltown, mo; found small quartz in park hills, mo.

our next trip is going to be in Arkansas to look for the crystal quartz they have. I've seen where people walk out with a good piece of quartz. not sure when that one will be. work is going to get somewhat in the way with that for a few months. we'll also try to do some day trips around area to find different minerals. heard that there is galena in galena, mo- who would of thought--; joplin, i've heard has some minerals there; also branson had some fossils around roadside rock faces. can't wait until we can do all of this. until then have a wonderful day.
