What they said. And if you are using metal dops (faceting does) AND your stone is not heat sensitive, you can wrap the stone in a wet paper towel. Then, apply heat to the dop (move the flame around!). It will fall off for both epoxy and superglue.

If a metal dop and non-stablized stone, you can soak it in denatured alcohol too. But do not leave it sitting in an open container. Just to avoid the fumes floating about looking for trouble.
