Hi Bob,

To answer some of your questions; I was faceting a piece of golden scapolite about 6 x 8 mm. My course lap was a Lapcraft 260 grit, and my other laps are also lapcraft. I have been using them on average about 8 hours a week. I thought maybe I wasn't using enough water from my drip tank. I was only using about one drop per second, or could it be that the scapolite is softer than the quartz, spinel and zircon that I've been cutting before and the laps became contaminated with the harder materials? Thanks for whatever information you can give me.
