LOTS of people go there, and many other fee sites her in the southeast. The rate of development is breath taking, and many formerly free sites are now covered wiht tract houses. I have not been to the Hogg, BUT I have paid at Little Pine Garnet Mine, Crabtree Emerald Mine, Diamond Hill, JXR Amethyst and several others. Last trip to Diamond Hill got me a 4" base amethyst crystal with great termination and a shoe box FULL of material to facet as well as several smaller crystals. I think it was worth $25.00! If you live in Arizona or somewhere else you can just pickup material GREAT, that is not the situation here. The Hogg mine is on my list of palces to go once it cools down from our current heat.
