Daughter getting started

My 11-yr-old daughter recieved a bag of "loaded" dirt for her birthday and had a fantastic time grubbing for gems. Now we have about 70 and are only able to identify about 30. I have so many websites marked and purchased 3 books but still can't find over half of her specimens anywhere. Anyplace y'all recommend we try?

Also, we were wondering if tumbling these raw stones and gems would increase/decrease their value at all. I realize these are very common semiprecious stones and not worth more than a dime or so but we (a)don't want to destroy some that are so beautiful in their natural state or (b)do want to see if there are any hidden treasures beneath some of the coatings.

Any help would be appreciated as we embark on this fascinating journey :)

Thanks so much!!
