Hello Mark, Ditto on these ideas that have been mentioned. I too buy the clear tubing from the local hardware. It comes in a lot of sizes. I use the size appropriate for the different size rocks that I am lapping. It really doesn't get any cheaper than that. The tubing lasts for quite some time. As for the grit on the rocks, I also use brushes to clean as much as I can from the rocks. I have cans of compressed air that I use to get to the hard locations. They are available at most computer stores or office supplies, and if you wait for a sale you can get them for a reasonable price. Good luck lapping!
