Re: polishing Septarian Nodules

hi gary,
well i have cut and polished many septarian nodules. i have used many methods to do so. what i always did is i used a wet expando drum sander up to 600 grit and then i would use a bullwheel but had to be careful with the bullwheel because the septarian could fall apart then i would use tin oxide polish on a polishing wheel. also what i have found to work great on softer stones like the septarian is zam polish on a high speed polishing wheel. you can buy zam from most lapidary supply stores it comes either in stick or block form. i hope this was helpful, lynne
