Rock Candy Fluorite

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share with you a super find from the Rock Candy mine in Grand Forks, B.C. It's a 24 lb. fluorite octahedron specimen I collected two years ago at the mine. The vug (a crystal lined cavity) it came from was also huge. Only my legs were sticking out and I needed a flashlight to see while collecting this specimen, as well as many more smaller pieces. The picture of the fluorite should be posted soon on the Rock Nets' photo gallery.

Our rock club goes to Rock Candy every year. It's so much fun and Bob Jackson, mine owner, is a great host. You can book a trip to the mine and more at www.geologyadventures.com
