Shake, Rattle, Oops

My vibrating lap threw craps. The motor is shot. My question is: Should I replace the motor - if I can even find one - or invest in a new machine? The lap is an early Hustler, 15 inch, Serial #630 with a 1/40 hp motor. Hustler shows a replacement motor, but it is 1/20 hp, and likely for the newer machines. And costs 1/3 of what a complete new machine would. I emailed them to see if it would even fit what I have. I haven't heard back yet.
