There's great collecting in Colorado, Bryan. You need a copy of Voynick's book: Colorado Rockhounding- A Guide to Minerals, Gemstones, and Fossils. Eventually you can get all the field guides and cross reference one to another, but I like this guide (among several for Colorado) because the site descriptions are in more detail. Good Luck!
