Again, thanks, Don, for the helpful information. The carnotite, if I remember right, is more of a crust than dust. I say if I remember right because When I stored it in that otherwise vacant barn back in the early 70's I haven't messed with it since. In fact, I haven't even taken a look at it in several years. The reason I recently started considering what to do with it is because since purchasing a slab saw I got to wondering about working with it. It's really some beautiful, solid black wood. Better safe than growing two tails and an extra head, though. Nobody else has access to the barn so until I decide what to ultimately do it's safe where it is.
