It isn't near Austin, but, if you can, try the Woodard Ranch 12 miles south of Alpine, tx. If you in April during the show week, Trey can take you to Needle Peak near Terlingua, tx. You'll be surprised at what can be found on the ranch and more so at Needle Peak. Beautiful agates, labrodorite, and too many other specimens to mention here.
