Re: Rock Tumbling

Joseph, I had the same problem with Harbor Freight tumblers. I use rubber O-rings as replacements, size 341, from Rubber & Specialties, Inc. Pensacola, FL (850) 478-9778, about 39 cents each. Your will probably find any company in your area that supplies specialty rubber products such as O-rings will have them. Lortone and Thumbler small tumblers need size 343. You will also find that the cheap plastic motor pulleys (with the fan) will wear out fast also. They literally burn through. I ordered replacement cast aluminum pulleys (with the fan) from Lortone (get their catalog). They need to be drilled out to the correct arbor size on the Harbor Frt tumbler which is larger, but will last forever. I found that buying used Lortone or Thumbler tumblers on eBay, while not cheaper, is less trouble. So far I have thrown away 3 of 7 Harbor Frt tumblers and the remaining 4 are very noisy. Of those 4, they have been running pretty contiguously for 6+ months.
