Re: arkansas quartz crystal and diamond mines?

Hi RL,

If the diamond mine in Arkansas you are referring to is the Crater of Diamonds State Park near Murfreesboro, then the answer is yes... it is both a real volcanic pipe and a tourist spot that attracts thousands of visitors annually. The diamonds found there are native stones, not seeded material as is the case with a great many privately owned, fee-dig sites and tourist traps.

Two diamonds in the 4 carat size range were found at Crater of Diamonds State Park recently, and visitors recover hundreds of smaller diamonds there annually.

You can find more information on Crater of Diamonds State Park, digging diamonds and the facilities there at the Crater of Diamonds State Park web site:

Please leave some for me, and Keep on Rock'n!
