Realgar is Arsenic sulfide AsS Like almost every arsenic mineral it is poisonous. It is generally a brilliant red color. Exposed to light it eventually breaks down into Orpiment and another arsenic compound, I don't remeber what. I keep my specimens in a box coated black inside. Relagar is found in volcanic area deposits. You can go to Mindat.com and look at specimens and the pertinent info about realgar. Lloyd
