Re: Re: Quartz in Kimberlite
Since you are a diamond digger at the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas, I thought you might be interested in what I consider to be an excellent book, "Genuine Diamonds Found in Arkansas" by Glenn W. Worthington, a recent update and revision to his first book "A Thorough and Accurate History of Genuine Diamonds in Arkansas".
Among many things I learned from this book about the Crater of Diamonds locality and the diamonds found there is the pipes are lamproites, which are distinguished from kimberlites. Here is a little info on lamproites from Wikipedia:
If you don't yet have one and are interested in obtaining a copy of "Genuine Diamonds Found in Arkansas" you can get some further information on the book and order it from the author at:
My interest in the Crater of Diamonds State Park has been peaked by this book and I am planning to visit there in the not too distant future and try my own hand and luck at diamond prospecting. :)
Keep on Rock'n!
