I collected a variety of fossils on a beach just west of Port Angeles, WA. It's called Fossil Beach (go figure). There's a whale skeleton eroding, tail first, out of the cliffs--there's a few whale bone-laden boulders already dislodged and laying on the beach. I found whale bone, agatized snails, petrified burnt wood, clams that you can just pick out of the cliffs with your hands, and much more. Some experts that I met there said that most of what can be found there is 23-25 million years old.
