I'm no expert but sounds like it might possibly be a chalcedony nodule. Unless something very rare........which isn't likely, if it were polished and displayed well probably would have a price tag in the $40-$60 range at a show and that's on the high side. Just selling it outright: id be hardpressed to pay $20 for it. In other words......you won't be buying a new x-box with it lol. If you really insist on having it checked out either get a digital camera as im sure theres somewhere on here someone could identify it, check for local clubs--your best bet, or a geological dept. if you have a nearby university.
