How should I put a 24" saw to work??
Thought of the day: When I was a kid if I had the ability to build such a thing id had been all over it. Now it's like..........well whenever I get to it.
I already have everything I need, i've done it before in the past. This one will probably be a little different than what your used to seeing.....for example: If you have an 18" capacity vise does the saw really need to be on a stand and 3' off the floor so you can break your back lifting rocks that high? I don't think so.
Anyhow I have a few keokuks I want to cut and perhaps a few rocks to slab here and there. Being in a rather boring lapidary wise state of Kansas........I wonder what I could do with this thing after I cut what I have. I wonder if you could do any type of custom work with it? I thought of other things to like ill cut your rocks and keep some of them in exchange for cutting them, etc.
I would build a 36" but I think that's going overboard and the price jump from a 24" blade to a 36" is staggering.
I'm just wondering if I actually get this thing together if I will get good use out of it or if it will collect dust. My descision would be a lot easier if I lived in an area that I could collect nice larger stuff.
