I have had good luck in stabilizing 3mm thick chips from which I have then ground 30 micron thin sections. I used epoxy and heat.

The epoxy resin was diluted with five parts of toluene before the hardner was added. The chip was soaked for 24 hrs, then tightly wrapped in aluminum foil and heated on a hotplate at a moderate heat for another 24 hrs.

My purpose was to prevent tear-out when the chip was ground to the thin section. It worked well.
