I'm not even sure if you could even call it "rock" since it's probably manmade. The GIA said before the material was treated- it came apart at the color layers- almost like it was compressed together. Keep in mind not ONE reputable gem or rock dealer has EVER visited the mine itself. Someone probably developed a procedure using ground up calcite and synthetic colors to create this material.
