Clamping Thunder Eggs

Hello Everyone,
Can someone please tell me an easy way of clamping Thunder Eggs? I was hoping for a vise or clamp to do this as opposed to the plaster of paris, wood block, or the concrete method. I have searched, but to no avail. I was hoping to find something that I could make myself. I have a dozen or so eggs that have been sitting in the back room for quite a while now because I can find no way to clamp them. I don't have the patience or the steady hand to cut them by hand. Is there a website that shows a clamp that will do this, that I can look at for ideas. Anyway, I've tried shimming, stuffing, and wedging, but won't hold. Thanks much,
Dan
