"El Capitan" (Agathla Peak) near Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Arizona/Utah. 1500 foot high El Capitan, sacred to the Navajo Indians, is an approximately 25 million-year-old eroded volcanic diatreme in the Navajo Volcanic Field consisting of volcanic breccia cut by dikes of an igneous biotite and orthoclase rock known as minette.
